FAQ

Frequently Ask Questions

No. We are a foster-based rescue, meaning every cat lives in a volunteer foster home while waiting for adoption. This allows us to better evaluate each cat’s personality, medical needs, and behavior in a home environment.

Complete an adoption application through our website. Applications are reviewed to ensure each cat is matched with the most appropriate home. Approved applicants will be contacted to schedule a meet-and-greet.

Unless otherwise noted, every adopted cat is:

  • Spayed or neutered
  • Age-appropriately vaccinated
  • Microchipped
  • Dewormed and parasite treated
  • Examined by a licensed veterinarian

Indoor cats live significantly longer, healthier lives than cats allowed to roam outdoors. Keeping cats indoors protects them from vehicles, predators, disease, toxins, and other preventable hazards while also protecting local wildlife.

All Marsh Cat Rescue cats must be returned to the rescue if an adopter can no longer provide care. We never want one of our cats abandoned, surrendered elsewhere, or given away without our knowledge.

Yes. We support humane Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) whenever resources allow. TNR helps stabilize outdoor cat populations, improves health, and prevents future litters.

Yes. Marsh Cat Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and eligible donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
